"Across the United States, more than 13 million children are living in homes with their grandparents" (2020, Gaille, para. 2).
This group of consumers is mostly consisted of Baby Boomers, Generation X, and Generation Y who are of majority African American race, females, and males who are married or single, and 65 years of age.
Nancy and Don happen to be part of the "11% of grandparents raising their grandchildren because of the death of one or both of that child's parents" (2020, Gaille, para. 20). In paragraph 3, Gaille also states that 2.5 million grandparents every day are taking on the responsibilities required to raise these children (2020).
